FAQ's

Do you outsource anything off-shore?

Currently, we do not outsource any work off-shore.  Although the competitive need may arise, we are trying our best to source locally, within North America, for many advantages that outweigh initial, upfront low cost.

How long do moulds last and how many parts can they produce?

Mould longevity depends on several factors.  Material construction, quality of build, mould complexity and mould maintenance all determine how long a mould will last.  Steel moulds will last longer than aluminum moulds, moving parts within the mould will increase wear, non-paralell surfaces will deteriorate sealing surfaces and poor maintenance will shorten overall life.  In general, aluminum moulds will last up to 50,000 cycles and steel into the millions.  And that's not to say they are scrap after that.  Sometimes, replacement parts and fine tuning are all the mould needs to continue more cycles.

Can the same mould be used to make several different parts?

Yes, with the use of family moulds and replaceable inserts, one mould can be used to make several different parts.  It all depends on how similar the parts are in size and complexity.

What if I only need a few prototype samples to check functionality, fit and feasibility?

No problem.  We can work together with and supply or put you in contact with companies who specialize in just that.

How secure is my idea or concept with you?

We are willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement with you, whether it is our standard form, your form or a form drafted by a lawyer.  The non-disclosure can be extended to our suppliers as well, under their own terms of agreement.
